On Saturday, April 25, more than 3,000 local Comcast employees and their families and friends volunteered at more than 25 community organizations across Colorado as part of Comcast’s eighth annual “Comcast Cares Day.”  At the same time across the country, a total of more than 50,000 Comcast volunteers participated on this annual day of service, which is one of the largest single days of corporate volunteer efforts in the country.

In addition to the projects in Denver, Comcast Cares Day reached community organizations across Colorado with volunteer crews working at sites from Windsor to Avon to Trinidad. In total, more than 3,000 Comcast volunteers participated in projects statewide, donating thousands of volunteer hours in a single day.

For the Comcast Cares Day projects in the Denver-metro area, the company partnered with the Denver Health Foundation, Greenprint Denver, several agencies serving the efforts of Denver’s Road Home and many others to support leading nonprofit organizations that are making a difference.

“At a time when our nonprofit community needs more support than ever, Comcast has once again stepped up and demonstrated their commitment to our city and state,” said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. “We are grateful for the leadership they have shown in creating community awareness and ongoing support for Denver’s Road Home, Greenprint Denver and a number of other worthy causes. Comcast Cares Day has become an integral part of Denver’s community and a model of corporate community outreach.”

“Comcast is proud to be an active member of the Denver community and throughout Colorado , and Comcast Cares Day is our commitment to improving the quality of life in communities we serve,” added Scott Binder, Senior Vice President. “There is nothing more rewarding than giving back, and I’m grateful to the 3,000 Comcast Cares Day volunteers who donated their time to help make such a big difference.”

Since the inception of its annual day of service, the Comcast Foundation has contributed grants totaling more than $6.6 million to local community partner organizations. This year, it will once again donate significant grants to local community partner organizations across the country on behalf of each employee and family member who volunteers on Comcast Cares Day. The grants will help Comcast’s community partners continue their mission of serving the community throughout the year and help power the dreams of neighborhoods nationwide.
