Because it can be difficult to keep track of the plethora of games that are released every day, I am publishing a weekly column where I lay out the coming week's notable (and not so notable) game releases for you, so you know exactly what's coming out and when.

Wii Sports Resort is obviously the big story this week, bringing a new wave of MotionPlus-enabled Wii remote waggling to homes across the country. Otherwise, though, this week belongs not to retail releases but to downloadable ones, of which there is one notable title each for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and WiiWare. Monday saw the release of the first chapter in the classic Tales of Monkey Island series on Nintendo's WiiWare service, while the highly-anticipated Fat Princess will be hitting the PlayStation Store later this week, on Thursday. But it's Wednesday's release of Capcom's re-tooled, high-definition version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 on Xbox Live Arcade that will undoubtedly set downloadable sales charts ablaze. In terms of actual retail releases? Well... there isn't much, unless endangered animals, secret diaries, rocking pretty, or Bust a Move are your thing. Wait, a new Bust a Move release could actually be worth checking out...

All release dates are subject to last-minute changes, and are gathered by way of GameFAQs, a site that I have long found to be a reliable source for release dates (among other things).
Also keep in mind that all listed release dates are for a game's ship date; games are not usually available on store shelves until the following day (although there are rare exceptions where the game is available on the same day).
