Summer is here, and that means a scorching sun.  You want your baby to enjoy the summer season, but how do you protect their delicate skin?

There are all kinds of baby sunblock on the market today, and they all claim to be "perfect" for babies.  But what kind of baby sunblock is really best?

As a general rule, choose a "chemical-free" baby sunblock to avoid chemicals being absorbed into your baby's skin.  Chemicals and other active ingredients in regular baby sunblock can cause allergic reactions or irritation.

Instead, look for baby sunblock that has zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as an ingredient.  Instead of absorbing into the skin, these sunblocks stay on the surface of the skin.  They also are superior to chemical baby sunblock because they begin to work immediately instead of needing 30 minutes to be absorbed.

Look for a baby sunblock that blocks a wide spectrum of UVA and UVB rays to protect your baby.  Sunblock that contains zinc oxide or titanium dioxide effectively blocks these harmful rays.
