Well it's the 1st week of November and Christmas is here...and everywhere! I love Christmas, so it's fine with me. My children begged me to at least let them have their nutcrackers, so I pulled them out; then went and fetched a few token Christmas CD's to go along with it. I was driving down the street today and saw my first lighted Christmas tree of the season in someones living room window. Maybe we are all feeling the need for some extra cheer this year, but in keeping with the spirit either way; here are make-up tips for holidays 2009.
While fall make-up was demure and pretty, winter make-up is bold and bright! Bright red, deep black cherry burgundy or mahogany lipcolor, liner defined to perfection. Or keep it a little more to the natural side with bright colors but juicy gloss instead of definitive liner.
For eyes, you can't go wrong with strong liner that makes a statement, but softened edges to keep it pretty. Black, brown and grey are all favorites this season, softened into smokey rims all around the eye, or just on the top. Remember wearing eyeliner doesn't mean it looks like a line. Blend, blend, blend unless your wearing an outfit and hairstyle so strong that lines will fall flawlessly into place. If that's the case, lines can be done, but a trick to keeping good eyeliner lines is go back over them at the very end of adding shadow to redefine the line. Make sure you show off your pretty eyes with a well applied mascara blended evenly!
Skin texture evened to perfection and finished with a soft and matte, powdery finish is an excellent contrast to features emboldened by color and depth.
