On October 28th, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Sony Electronics, announced the voluntary recall of a Sony VAIO computer AC adapter. The recalled adapter is the Sony VGP- AC19V17, which was supplied with the all-in-one VAIO Desktop Computer and the VAIO Docking Station.
Four reports of adapters short circuiting have been received by Sony. The CPSC suggests that consumers turn off their computer, unplug it and stop using the recalled AC adapter immediately. Also, contact Sony to arrange for a free adapter replacement.
