It began in 2004 with the little yellow wristband (developed by Nike and their ad agency Wieden+Kennedy), as a fund-raising item for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, founded by cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong. The LiveSTRONG movement has come a long ways since then bringing us to our numbers two and three picks in the 2009 Men Summer/Spring Sneaker series. Say hello to the Nike LunarRacer and Nike Lunar Everyday. Lance may have suffered an unfortunate injury last month, but in no way will this slow down his committed efforts along with Nike to raise awareness and money for the war against cancer.
Pick No. 2 - The Nike LunaRacer

The Nike LunaRacer
This sexy sneaker combines two technologies – Flywire and Lunarlite foam – that are designed for today's high performance athlete. The Nike LunaRacer is lighter, stronger, and faster than any previously developed Nike running shoe. As a bonus to the shoe’s lightweight Flywire upper, the Nike Innovation Kitchen developed lightweight and highly responsive Lunarlite foam, which are usually mutually exclusive in cushioning.
Pick No. 3 - The Nike Lunar Everyday

The Nike Lunar Everyday
Our number three choice brings together two of Nike’s most innovative technologies: a Lunar bottom and a Nike Free Everyday upper. This well-cushioned, everyday running shoe is long on function and style. It comes with a breathable upper mesh that is reinforced with synthetic overlays to add maximum support. Other features include the no-sew tip construction purposed to provide less irritation; an internal heel counter and plush foam package to deliver maximum comfort; and the innovation of Lunarlite foam helping to distribute the pressure patterns more evenly across the foot. Two words for our number three pick. Straight SICK!
