Generation, an investment group co-founded by Al Gore, is one of many green investment groups focusing on sustainability.

"Green" investing is part of what is called 'socially responsible investing' in which investors look at the impact that businesses have on the broader world.

Even as markets continue to decline, investors and analysts agree that green investing is good investing and historically more stable.   Socially responsible investing was estimated by the Social Investment Forum (www.socialinvest.org) to be worth more than $2 trillion in investments at the end of 2002.

If you have suddenly found yourself gainfully unemployed and are seeking a fresh career or even a place to roll-over your 401K - finding or becoming a Green Investment Advisor may be of interest.

For more info: The authors of the book Clean Tech Revolution (by Ron Pernick and Clint Wilder, 2007) predict that four cleantech sectors (biofuel, wind, solar and fuel cells) will grow from $55 billion in 2006 to $226 billion by 2016.
