I wrote an article yesterday about people hopeful to see a special Iran logo on google.com. This is a update to that article.
A website has been created that displays the special Google logo (the logo at the right). People are asking Google to display this logo on their site for a day to help raise awareness of the current situation in Iran.
There is also a straw poll on the site where you can voice your opinion whether Google should display the logo for a day. The poll asks "Would you like Google to change their logo for one day to help the people of Iran?"
This morning at about 1:20 a.m. U.S. Mountain time, the poll had 72,285 people who voted. At that time, 98% of the people who voted said yes and 2% voted no. A lot of people have voted since then - as of this writing, 748,300 had voted with 89% of voters saying yes and 11% no.
If you would like to vote, go to the above website and let your opinion be known.
We wish the best for the people of Iran and hope for freedom and fair elections.
Also see Google's logo for June 17th for Igor Stravinsky's birthday. It is very colorful and attractive.
