We all use cut, copy and paste all the time.  But did you know that each can be done five different ways?  At first you may think, “so what?”  But there are times when one method is faster or more useful than another.  When I am editing a document for example, I use keyboard shortcuts that use the INSERT and DELETE keys.  I can highlight text, then move, copy or delete it without taking my eyes off of the document, using navigation keys.

If you aren’t familiar with using keys like CTRL or ALT, reading the Windows modifier keys article will help you understand how to use them.

This article shows the different ways to do this.  Once you know them, you can decide which method you want to use for different situations.

The following table shows the five methods available for cut, copy and paste.

Try the different options you have and you will probably copy and paste differently next time you need to.  You will probably save yourself some time, too.
