6:40 pm ET update: Look for an article titled "UFL game 1 live notes" beginning at around 8 pm ET. That article will be updated throughout the game with notes, comments and more.

2 pm ET update: Tonight's special coin-toss ceremony features UFL founder and Locos owner Bill Hambrecht, Redwoods owner Paul Pelosi and league commissioner Michael Huyghue.

The long journey to get the United Football League to the field is complete. In a matter of hours the Las Vegas Locos will host the California Redwoods at Sam Boyd Stadium.

The oddsmakers have installed the Locos as a seven-point favorite in the game that will air live on Versus.at 9 pm ET.
