Kyra Sedgewick has portrayed a single mother in previous film roles, including Phenomenon with John Travolta. In Loverboy, she plays a woman who actively seeks out single motherhood, rejecting the traditional family, after being raised by dysfunctional 70's Swingers.

The film is directed by Kevin Bacon, so there's an element of creepiness to the story, as single mom Kyra sleeps with as many "sturdy" men as she can, hoping to create the most viable offspring through her sexual pursuits. This film begs the question: Where does protective motherhood end, and unhealthy obsession begin? Who are we to judge someone's lifestyle and parenting decisions? What is considered "bad" for a child?

Movie Bonus: Watch Sedgewick reunited for the first time since 1992 with her Singles co-star Campbell Scott.
