
Arizmendi Bakery, the worker-owned coop specializing in artisan breads, pastries and gourmet pizza in the Inner Sunset, is slated to open in downtown San Rafael later this year. The Business Times says that they have signed a lease to occupy a 2,700 square foot space at 4th and Court Streets.
The Cheese Board in Berkeley and Arizmendi stores in Oakland and Emeryville are independently operated sister coops.
You can visit the San Francisco shop's booth every Sunday at the Inner Sunset Farmer's Market from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m (across the street from the bakery).
This weekend, they are baking 9" deep-dish, double-crusted strawberry-rhubarb pies for your Fourth of July picnics. They're made with 2 1/2 lbs. of fresh fruit and a hint of vanilla. Available July 3-5.
