The phrase "train the chain" is one of the most common pieces of advice used by sport conditioning professionals who are "in the know." They are
referring to the kinetic chain, which is a connected sequence of events that when put together, create movements. In skiing, the kinetic chain begins in the feet. That's why balance, edge, pressure and steering are the primary skills of skiing. Sam Morishima seems to have developed a clever, if not odd machine to train these skills. While the machine is definitely interesting, I can't help but wonder about the upper body posture, since you need to hang on to the bar for balance. I would love to near the opinion of ski professionals. Any thoughts?
