Actor Robert Pattinson signs autographs in Japan

Proudly wearing a Yankees cap, actor Robert Pattinson actively signed autographs for screaming Twilight fans at Narita International Airport this past weekend.

Fresh off a 15-hour flight from Los Angeles, the New Moon star began a world tour to promote his new film.

First stop: The Land of the Rising Sun, starting out during Japan Culture Day (see video below) on November 3  when various cultural events and endeavors are celebrated. How appropriate for this fine actor to be in Nippon in time to bring attention to Pattinson's favorite art form -- film.

Once in Tokyo after doing his duty at the city's airport 90 minutes away, Pattinson traded his traveling clothes for some slicker duds, and the chance to talk up The Twilight Saga: New Moon. He attended a press conference in the Japanese capital at Shinagawa Intercity Hall (see photo below).

Pattinson's companion for the event in the architecturally impressive building, designed by Nihon Sekkei in 1998, was Chris Weitz, the film's director. Also present at the technologically advanced edifice was Japanese singer Miliyah Kato.

What a whirlwind for this The Twilight Saga: New Moon star. Can you say jet lag, Robert?
