This weeks Xbox Live "Deal of the Week" is Fable II Pub Games. If it wasn't officially posted via Major Nelson, I would consider this a very late (or very early) April Fools joke without giving it a second thought.

If you pre-ordered Fable II in 2008 at select retailers, you received an Xbox Live code for Pub Games. If you didn't preorder Fable II, you could buy it on the Xbox Live Marketplace for $5 more than the pre-order price.

Fable II has been out for over a year now and people have all forgotten about the scourge that was Pub Games. Why Microsoft insists on reminding us is beyond me.

The game itself is made of three (or four) horribly dull card games. If it wasn't free, I wouldn't have even bothered to play it. There was a bright side to playing Pub Games though. All your earnings got transfered to Fable II when it was released. Knowing you could rake up millions in Pub Games made the wait for Fable II a little more tolerable. Too bad the game was completely broken.

Don't buy it. 400mp ($5) is outrageous for this crap. Check the comments on Major Nelson's blog if you need a second opinion.
