David Letterman: Shows 6w7 wing on Video

Seems David Letterman is in the hot seat at home regarding his affairs he had with Late Night staff members. Though, you wouldn’t know it from the point of his 6w7 wing stance that he’s showcasing—cracking jokes, making light of the seriousness of the issues. This isn’t surprising, as Enneagram Sixes show bravado under stress and can go into “worse case” thinking, that they feel is about to come.

Preparing for the Worse
No one is more equipped to handle the horrors or bad press than the Anti-Phobic Six. In fact, Sixes expect it to be as bad as it can get! If David Letterman comes out on top, even more than he thought he would—he’ll be more surprised than his fans.

What goes through the mind of a stressed out Six?
Their whole lives is about keeping their support systems. If fact, when they have done something they felt was dreadful, they fear all their support will be taken away. This could be from internal sources like spouse or external like job, or friends. Sixes need to have security in place to keep moving.

What will Letterman say tonight?
Well, if we could guess on the classic Anti-phobic stance, and depending on if he’s moved into his Level 7 stance. (See Enneagram Institute for more info Levels) he may go into the stance of looking for help from his audience, his spouse, his co-workers.

Fearing that they have ruined their security, they become panicky, volatile, and self-disparaging with acute inferiority feelings. Seeing themselves as defenseless, they seek out a stronger authority or belief to resolve all problems -- Enneagram Institute

Regarding of what levels, wings and arrows Letterman will show tonight, he is beating himself more so than his peers or love ones. Sixes has a strong feeling of disastrous thinking and self-preservation. Their basic core value will be to find security, that he feels he has lost by his mistake. He now needs allies, that will help him get though this tough time. Seems from the clip below, he has found them in his fans.
