You know how a lot of bicyclists wear fancy and colorful jerseys and matching tight cycling shorts to match?
Well, that's perfectly fine.
But you can also wear comfortable everyday clothes and still have a great time on a bicycle.
Like my friends Amy and Ken here in the Seminole Heights neighborhood of Tampa.
They're members of the Seminole Heights Bicycle Club, a neighborhood bike club devoted to bicycling the urban streets of Tampa.
The rides last anywhere from six to 22 miles and the emphasis is on connecting with other bicyclists and other neighborhoods, not just hammering 24 mph in a pace line.
Nothing wrong with speed on two wheels.
But that kid of cycling sometimes intimidates folks who just want a simple, leisuirely ride of 12 miles or so.
Amy is wearing long pants with a flowe motif.
Ken is wearing a long-sleeve white shirt, rolled up at the forearm.
Not exactly the garb you see at the Tour de France.
But they're still pedaling road bikes and they're comfortable.
So wear comfortable clothes when you bike -- and remember the most important thing is to get on that bike!
