As the Santa Ana winds sweep across the deserts into Southern California we can expect temperatures upwards of 103 in some parts today. Most will find refuge pushing paper in air conditioned offices as it is a workday, after all. But for the rest of us unemployed and unemployable (myself included), relief will come by way of a refreshing cocktail. My motto: being unemployed in this economy sucks, but being sober and unemployed sucks more. Might as well alter the one you can. Cheers!
Alien Secretion
1 oz. Melon liqueur like Midori or other melon flavored liqueur
1 oz. Coconut rum
Pineapple juice
Garnish with a pineapple slice
1 oz. Coconut rum
Pineapple juice
Garnish with a pineapple slice
Pour ingredients into a Cordial or Collins glass filled with ice. Pour contents of glass into a shaker tin, give a quick shake and return to glass. Garnish with a tall straw and a pineapple wedge if you have one. This cocktail also makes a wonderful 'martini.' Simply shake over ice and strain into a martini glass.
