Columbus Ohio may be about to experience a mini-economic boom, if Forbes.com has any power. Named as the most affordable city in the US for retirement in a recent survey, Columbus has affordable housing and low inflation.

Forbes's survey looked at cost of living factors such as affordable housing and inflation, and also looked to see how many people over age 65 are employed in each location since many retirees want to work at least part-time. In addition, the survey looked at the number of doctors in each area.

Here's the complete Top Ten List of Affordable Places to Retire:

1. Columbus, Ohio

2. Dallas

3. Minneapolis

4. Houston

5. Salt Lake City

6. Indianapolis

7. Denver

8. St. Louis

9. Atlanta

10. Nashville
