Looking at the recently-released schedule, the Warriors play 21 of their first 34 on the road, a stretch that includes back-to-backs at Cleveland-Boston and Dallas-San Antonio, and a pair of rough four-game stretches—Chicago-Detroit-Philadelphia-San Antonio and Boston-Lakers-Portland-Denver.
Also, Leon Powe is still looking for a team, as talks with the Cavs appear dead in the water. How about signing my man to the veteran minimum, as he is out the first two months of the season rehabbing his knees? He would probably jump at the chance to play in his hometown and it would be a nice alarm clock for Brandan Wright.
Wright would have two months to show he was more committed to cleaning the glass, or else Golden State could trade him and give his minutes to Powe. There's not a huge risk since it is a one-year deal.
Update: Powe will sign a two-year contract for the league minimum with the Cavs on Tuesday if the team’s doctors are satisfied with the progress of his injured left knee, a league source told Yahoo.
