Some people may prefer to have their pet model for them, but as they are not people it would be hard for your best friend to sit still! Buster is the name of the dog that is being sketched out on this canvas. Painting is much easier with a guide drawing, but many artists prefer to just paint freehand. Observe the picture of your pet while carefully sketching, or just have fun and draw a cartoonish picture. This is you painting, so make sure to bring some of your personality to it! So far in this first step has just been devoted to laying down the dimensions of the face and the eyes. The ruler can be useful for making sure the eyes are equidistant apart. In the second part of the series more details will be added to Buster's face.
