Painting a picture of your pet is easy, and an affordable way to decorate your home. All that is needed for creating this portrait is:
- a photograph of your pet
- a canvas
- a good eraser
- a good drawing pencil.
- a good set of oil paints
All of these supplies can be purchased on a budget from local crafting stores, so there is no reason to spend hundreds of dollars just to paint a picture of your dog!
In the first part of this project a photograph of a dog was selected for the sketch, and the dimensions of the face were laid out on the canvas. For the second portion of this project the details have been added to the face and the body. While sketching it is good to observe the photograph carefully, and do not be afraid to erase! Here you can see the nose has been erased and placed lower on the dog, but that does not matter as the sketch will be covered with paint. It is very important to add the major details to the face during the second step in the process, which will make painting a breeze.
