Make a pumpkin trick-or-treat bag today.

Trick-or-treat is a big part of Halloween for many kids, so why not encourage youngsters to create their own candy bags?

Store bought bags cost money, but handmade bags can be fashioned out of items lying around the house.  This project was created by using a plain brown paper bag, and drawing a pumpkin on it.

Next, oil pastels were used to add vibrant color to the pumpkin.  Once the pumpkin was colored in the happy jack-o-lantern face was added using the black oil pastel crayon.  Take a look at the pictures and video below to see how this trick-or-treat bag was created, and keep in mind any ghostly image can be added to your own bag.

Step One:

Draw pumpkin on bag.

Lightly draw a picture of a pumpkin on the bag.  However, keep in mind that you can pick any Halloween image that you may like to draw on your own bag.

Step Two:

Pumpkin bag

Use oil pastels to add vibrant color to the Halloween pumpkin.  Use the black oil pastel to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth over the pumpkin illustration.

Step Three:

Finished pumpkin bag.

Paint mod podge over the pumpkin bag to create a lustrous and paint like effect.  Also, the mod podge is good for sealing the oil pastel drawing so that it does not smudge!

It is fun to hand draw images on the bags, which ensures yours will stand out from the crowd on Halloween night!
