Gifts for book lovers can be much more than just a new book, but then that's always good too. Here are some ideas for gifts for little book lovers...

eeBoo Tell Me A Story cards aren’t a book… they let your little book lovers create their own story. You flip through the cards and they make up the story that goes with it. For ages three and up. For older kids, eeBoo makes Write Me A Story notebooks and blank story books with lined and blank pages for kids to draw pictures and write their own books.

Bring books to life for kids this holiday by buying a book and coordinating toy gift set. Two good and unique choices – the Nana Star doll and book and Emily Goes Wild monkey and book. Nana Star tells the story of a girl on a mission to care for a fallen star until she can return him home. Emily Goes Wild tells the story of a fashionable monkey that goes to live in a zoo. Both books are beautifully illustrated.

Here’s something a little different that book lovers can take into their bath – a waterproof book. Eebee’s Hug And Splash Adventures board book with mirror and bathtub water-play book two-book set. The Adventures Bath Time book with squirting and squeaking pages is for ages nine to 36 months. It also comes with a book to teach body parts, a great bath time activity!

Highlights High Five monthly magazine subscription for little kids with age appropriate stories, puzzles, crafts and more for pre-readers 2-6 years old. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Unique Books

My Name Ispersonalized books by Frecklebox tell a story directly to every child with photos that have your child's name in them as well as in the story. Also great for nature lovers. Frecklebox makes a personalized coloring book too that's really cool. You can browse the book at frecklebox.com.

Mo Smells Red Forget scratch and sniff, this is a new age of push and sniff with a really cute story of a nosy dog. In fact, it's scent-sational! Bonus: part of the proceeds benefit Best Friends Animal Society. You can browse the book at mosnose.com.

One Night in Frogtown is a book with accompanying CD that reads the book to your child, including songs along the way. It was created as a musical in the form of a children’s book by Emmy Award winning composer Phillip Pelletier. Browse the book and listen to the songs at frogtowncentral.com.

Other unique books the kiddos probably don't have yet but might enjoy (when you click the title you can see the book and get more info):
Monster Isle
The Woolyhoodwinks vs The Dark Patch
The Octonauts and Frown Fish
The Land of Imagination

Audio Books

Brown Bear & Friends audio CD puts together the bear tales from Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle’s beloved children's books in a pure listening form read by Gwyneth Paltrow.

James Herriot’s Treasury for Children audio book featuring joyful animal tales, read by Jim Dale, Grammy award winning audiobook talent, famous as the voice of Harry Potter on that series of audio books.

DVD Versions of Books
For little book lovers, how about getting their favorite stories on DVD to watch as well. Scholastic has some great sets with classic tales from their mega treasury of 100 story book classics DVD set to DVDs that feature a series with one character like Harry the Dirty Dog. Scholastic’s Treasury of 100 Storybook Classics makes favorites come alive and introduces children to new books too. Stories are narrated by some of the top celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker, Forest Whitaker, Randy Travis and more. Check out newkideo.com to see all of the books on DVD available.

Readeez DVDs are made up of short animated stories that put together written and spoken word and some music too. Children learn spelling and pronunciation while just watching. For 18 months and up. You can watch some examples at readeez.com.
