Lost on ideas for dad this Father's Day? Here's a great gift idea he'll love and can really get into... Season 1 and 2 of Lost is out on Blu-ray today!

These make such a great gift. Fans of this series will really get into all the extras plus the top quality digitally remastered episodes. The look better than ever on Blu-ray! If Dad likes sci-fi, mystery or just interesting and innovative entertainment - these Blu-ray disks will get him hooked on the show even if he's never seen an episode of the show! And newcomers will want to start here - because Lost is one of those shows that need to be watched in order to try to figure out what's going on!

I got an advance peek at Lost: Season 1 and Lost: Season 2 on Blu-ray and I was impressed. Of course, I love the show and think it's one of the best on TV right now. Here's what you can find on these disks...

Lost: Season 1 takes you back to the first chapter of the Oceanic Flight 815 survivors’ struggle to stay alive with some good extras. Among them:

  • In the extras, we learn that Jack wasn't scheduled to be a main character... he was supposed to die in the pilot thanks to the smoke monster. But then Matthew Fox stunned the shows' big wigs and the show was revamped. You can even watch the deleted scene with "dead Jack" in it! I can't imagine Lost without Jack - good call execs!
  • “The Genesis of Lost” is really cool. This is a must see for Lost fans. You get to see the writers and producers kick around their ideas. Kind of like watching how the show morphed into something ordinary to extraordinary.
  •  “Welcome to Oahu:” The Making of the Pilot is really in depth and another must see for fans.
  • Audio Commentaries - really informative and so much better than those behind the scenes extra episodes ABC was airing

Other bonus features:

  • “Designing a Disaster”
  • “Before they were Lost” Cast auditions
  • The Art of Matthew Fox
  • Lost @ Comicon
  • Lost: On Location
  • Lost Revealed – Flashbacks and deleted scenes
  • Bloopers
  • Spoofs

This groundbreaking first season earned twelve 2005 Emmy nominations and took home the award for Outstanding Drama Series.

Lost: Season 2 earned nine 2006 Emmy nominations, including nods for Outstanding Directing, Writing and Casting.

Fav bonuses to look out for in this season...

  • Fire & Water: Anatomy of an Episode -This bonus feature takes you behind the scenes from the ideas behind an episode to the shooting, editing and delivering the show to your TV set. Really can appreciate all the work that goes into every single episode of amazing TV shows like Lost.
  • The World According to Sawyer  - This looks at all the funny one-liners the character Sawyer has during the season. Entertaining for Sawyer fans for sure!
  • Mysteries, Theories and Conspiracies - Actors and fans give their ideas for what may happen on the show. Everyone who watches this show seems to have their own idea of what is really going on, so this is a fun feature.
  • Audio commentaries - Like on Season One, Season Two's commentaries are insightful and provide lost of interesting insights.

Other bonus features:

  • Lost: On Location
  • Canine Castaway
  • Flashbacks
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Bloopers
  • Secrets from the Hatch

"Season Play" is a cool feature on both seasons. It automatically makes a note of where you are in the season so you can stop (if you can stop), do what you need and pick up right where you left off even if you eject the disk, watch it in another Blu-ray player, watch it in five minutes or two weeks later. Really a nice feature for a show like this!
