Here's an uplifting story of strangers coming together to bring a little baby into the world.

A subway conductor -and mom of two-used her memories of childbirth classes to help coach another mom through birth... while other passengers pitched in to help... all on a train platform.

The birth was "caught on tape," if you will, by another passenger on their cell phone. You can see that video HERE from WABC-TV.

Francine Alfontent, the mom-to-be, was with her husband Max on the way to the hospital to have the baby when she went into serious labor and stopped at the bottom of the stairs in the train station. That's when subway conductor Bretta Sykes came upon them, reports The New York Post. The couple was surrounded by other passengers that had made a bed of sorts out of their clothing for the mom to lay on, reports MSNBC.

MSNBC says the mom and baby are doing well. The little girl, by the way, was named Soleil and she weighed in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces.

Watch an interview with Bretta Sykes who delivered the baby HERE.
