A Bug's Life is coming to BluRay for the first time this week. This 1995 kids movie was the second movie Pixar studios ever made. If you missed it over a decade ago because you didn't have children, now is the time to rent it or pick up a copy of your own.
A Bug's Life tells the story of an ant colony bullied by grasshoppers and one ant who sees life differently and goes in search of a way to free his colony so they can all live a better life with the help of some unlikely heroes. It is a perfect movie for little ones into bugs, like my 3 year old is right now. I enjoy it as well. It teaches kids the value of teamwork, friendship, believing in yourself and to not judge others.
Like all other Pixar movies, A Bug's Life has lots of star power voicing the characters including Kevin Spacey, Julia Lewis-Dreyfus and Hayden Panettiere. It was written by Andrew Stanton who also wrote such kids favs as WALL-E and Toy Story.
The BluRay edition brings this flick to life, like it was originally seen in theatres over a decade ago. It includes never before seen animated sequences, a film makers roundtable talk, director audio commentary, behind the scenes footage, the academy award winning short Geri's Game, and more.
If your kids enjoyed Bee Movie, you'll like this one too.
