This week, the British are the inspiration behind the baby name of the day theme. Today's name: Winston.

Winston was the name of the British prime minister Sir Winston Churchill.

The name means "joyful stone". According to thinkbabynames.com, it comes from the name Wynnstan.  They add that "Churchill, got his name from his family's connections to the region, and he has since given the name modern connotations of courage and eloquence."
