My daughter Ava enjoying her Britax on our last road trip.

This week is the big week to buy a Britax car seat. Many stores put this popular brand on sale at this time every year as part of Baby Safety Month.

So whether you're in the market for an upgrade or your first baby seat, this is the time to check this item off your baby registry and buy (or ask your family to pitch in to help you out).

I personally have a Britax seat for each of my girls and recommended the brand to my sister who bought one for her baby as well. I suggest this brand for every other baby out there.

A car seat is the number one safety item for all children in my eyes. You use it the most and can be most valuable. If money is a concern, I recommend asking all of your friends and family to pitch in to buy one of these instead of all the other baby stuff they'd buy for a baby shower. You'll be way ahead in the long run.

My niece Sofia also rides well in her Britax.

I tried three other seats when I was first in the market for a convertible car seat for my oldest child. The others were difficult to install, but not the Britax. I also felt the Britax seemed safest. Some stores will let you try installing the car seat in your car before buying if you ask. That way you can find which is easiest and best suited for your vehicles.

I had trouble shelling out the cash for a Britax at first because there are many other cheaper brands on the market. But from my experience the Britax is most comfortable for your little one, very safe, easy to install and have the added bonus of being cool (if any car seat can actually qualify as cool). There are lots of fun patterns and you can even get some with the logo of your favorite college team!

Safety is by far the biggest reason to buy a Britax. “Britax car seats are safer protection in the event of an accident because they protect against side impact, which is where more accidents happen.  Their safety systems, True Enhanced Side Impact Protection and HUGS for Optimum Safety and Support are what makes the brand the safest brand in car seats,” says Michelle Rothman, Director of the Amazon.com Baby store.
