Getting toddlers to want to brush their teeth can be a hassle. To be sucessful, you need to make it fun. To make it practical, it needs to cheap.
My answer: the Firefly toothbrush for kids.
This bad boy has a flashing red light that turns on with a little push and it blinks for one minute. Perfect timing to keep kids attention and let them know how long they should try to brush for.
It comes in several fun colors: green. blue, pink, yellow, and white. Best of all it only costs about a buck.
I have two at all times in my daughter Ava's toothbrush holder. When she gets up in the morning we go use the potty first thing. Then we go to the sink, she washes her hands and then gets to pick which color she wants. I do this to help her learn colors as well as decision making skills. Plus she thinks it's a game, so it just adds to the fun.
We've tried several other types of toohbrushes (musical, power spinners, characters) and none of them compare.
You can buy the Firefly toothbrush for about a dollar at Walmart, The Dollar Tree, dentist.net, and other stores nationwide.
