Neither Barack or Obama may not have made the list of the top 1000 baby names in the US last year, but things are a changing.

Lots of little babies have been named after our new President-elect already this year. The Associated Press reports Sanjae Obama Fisher was born in Florida Wednesday, joining Benjamin Barack Kimbrough who was born in Arkansas on Tuesday. And Barack's daughters are inspiring naming trends too. A mom in Maryland named her newborn baby girl Sasha Malia Ann Taylor, after Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia.

I also heard from a friend today that adopted a cat on Election Day. Her ten year old son promptly named his new kitty Barack.

Read about the meaning of the names Sasha and Malia HERE and about the meaning of Barack and Obama HERE.
