This is a part of a new series of stories called Diaper Diaries - The Diaper Challenge that explores cloth diapering, which is gaining in popularity everyday. (Read the rest of the articles in this series HERE.)
I challenged diaper companies small and large to send me their best diaper to test out. I will be reporting my findings about each diaper individually as well as comparing and contrasting them later in this series. Each diaper has been tested for about a month or more by both my one year old and 2.5 year old girls.
DryBees, drybees.com
DryBees makes several types of cloth diapers, including the pocket diaper, which I tried in Ocean Blue ($15.95, babysbottomline.com). Drybees also makes All In Ones , bamboos and fleece overnight diapers. For girly girls, DryBees turns their pocket diaper into Lacies too.
The Drybees pocket diaper is pretty straightforward and simple. It has velcro on either side and a wide opening for stuffing an insert.
The inner material is soft, but seems to easily pick up lint in the dryer. But it does have some of the best laundry tabs around to keep lint off of the velcro tabs, which keep these diaps very secure on baby.
The outside is waterproof PUL fabric and holds up well in the wash. I haven't had any leaks with this diaper. Like most of the other cloth diapers I've tried, I don't use this one at night on either of my girls because it just can't hold the amount of liquid they release.
