New moms and dads need extra special attention at the holidays or anytime of the year. They're more than likely in need of some sleep and any little help they can get as they transition to life with baby, whether this is their first or third. Here are some ideas just for them.

(Check back soon for gift ideas for pregnant moms, moms, dads and grandparents! For newborns, check out THIS gift guide.)

For all those nights when baby wakes up and you’re so tired you can barely find the light switch, now you don’t have to. The Step n Shine is a wireless night light system. All you do is put the mat next to your bed, when you step on it, a light turns on and activates another light up to 100 feet away. Perfect to put in baby’s room or by the formula bottles. When kids get older, you can use it as a night light for their room and put the wireless light in the bathroom to help with night time potty training.

Give them the gift of not having to go to the store. Order up new parents fine food from and to anywhere in the country from RegionalBest.com. I tried their brisket, cooked it up Texas style and topped with BBQ sauce and it was really great and easy too. The website specializes in local foods.

For new parents with babies just beginning to eat, check out the Baby Dipper. You can feed baby easily with just one hand, which all parents know is a very welcomed idea. It has a non-slip base and is contoured inside for easy scooping.

For new moms wanting to start shedding those baby pounds, check out the Post-Natal Pilates by Stott Pilates. This DVD is designed just for new moms to get their pre-baby body back. You can watch a video clip of it HERE, to see if it looks appealing to you.

Dr Bloom’s Chewable Jewels are awesome and unique teethers for babies. My daughter has loved munching on this necklace and bracelet, but then she's a real jewelry fan. The plum Chewable Jewels benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation. They're a safe, healthy and metal and allergy-free line of jewelry. It's dishwasher safe too. This jewelry was invented by a dentist for teething babies.

Belli Motherhood Essentials Kit from Maternitique is a kit to help revitalize new mamas. It contains moisturizing hand sanitizer, body firming serum, nursing creme and my favorite eye brightening cream. The eye cream really works wonders taking away those black circles that new moms (and all moms) get!

Mambino Organics Mommy On the Go Kit from Upurea is filled with great smelling organic products for moms. It comes with several moisturizing products that feel as good as they smell and have a relaxing effect. The kit includes lip balm, body toning oil, baby oil, nipple butter, a youthful glow facial serum, and a vial of aromatherapy oil for baby and mom to relax with.

Another good gift for new parents - a baby carrier. Read my guide on the best baby carriers HERE.

I've put together over two dozen gift guides to help you find the perfect gifts this holiday season. I'm breaking down the categories to suit children's personalities from bug lovers to little scientists, artists and more. I'll also have gift guides for new parents, moms, dad, and grandparents. You can see all of those HERE all season long. Be sure to check back as there's lots more to come.
