Today is my daughter Ellerie's birthday, so what better day to have Ellerie be the baby name of the day!
Ellerie is traditionally spelled Ellery. Ellery is traditionally an Old English boys name meaning alder tree.
Some consider Ellery a gender neutral name from the Latin for cheerful and a form of Hillary.
Ellery Queen was a popular fictional detective in the 30s.
