This week’s Darwin Awards goes to a 21 year-old couple in South Carolina who, on June 20, 2007, were found naked, unconscious and severely injured at the side of the road just before sunrise. There was not a trace of clothing, no sign of a wreck and no witnesses to attest to the state of their being.

After hours of searching the area, detectives were ready to call it quits when an officer drew attention to a building nearby – a pyramid-shaped metal structure to be exact – and at its base, a pair of neatly folded clothing.

Evidently, the two decided it would be a fun experiment to challenge the laws of geometry and tried topping the roof, then topping each other. Until, of course, they slid to their untimely deaths, coming and going simultaneously. (The couple died in the hospital).
