Jaguars: It's a little early to annoint him a potential fantasy contributor, but it was nice to see Matt Jones post some nice numbers (six catches, 80 yards) in the loss to the Titans. Jacksonville shockingly doesn't have many other receiving options, so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility that he could help your team. I'll say this: One more big game and you're going to wish you'd pick him up this week rather than wait in line next week ...
The Jaguars have problems in their offensive line, but I wouldn't write off Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew just yet. The Titans shut down the Jags one time last year as well, but the second go-round was a different story. The Jaguars will figure out a way to run the ball, starting this week against an overmatched Buffalo squad. Taylor and Jones-Drew both warrant consideration this week.
Titans: If you took a bit of a flyer on Chris Johnson in the draft, congratulations. If you didn't and he's available on waivers in your league, I strongly suggest trying to move to the front of the line because he's probably the best player available this week. All his numbers in Week 1 (18 touches, 127 yards, one touchdown) were impressive, especially given that the opponent was Jacksonville ...
What does Vince Young's knee injury mean to the Titans? It means a more conservative game plan, which means even more balls for the tight ends. Bo Scaife (six catches, 105 yards) had a great opener; Alge Crumpler (one catch, four yards) did not. With Kerry Collins at the controls for up to a month, I still believe both tight ends can fantasy co-exist.
