The Bengals looked terrible on offense the first two weeks of the season. The only silver lining was Chris Perry, who was just getting his feet wet as the every-down replacement for Rudi Johnson.
If there ever was a "buy" sign for Bengals stars Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh, it was after the club's impressive performance against the Giants last week. With the Browns on deck, suddenly there's reason to get excited about the Cincinnati offense again.
But for some reason, that same excitement doesn't exist for Perry, and I don't know why. If he was fantasy-worthy even in the Bengals' worst of times, why wouldn't he be a fantasy star as things improve for the high-powered team?
Yeah, the Bengals will pass more with Palmer starting to click. But did that ever stop Rudi Johnson from being a big-time fantasy player? Absolutely not. In fact, it helped.
When the Bengals start rolling -- and you could argue they're gathering momentum right now -- Perry will be an every-week fantasy starter. Grab him now while you can still afford him.
