The Tom Brady injury is killing Randy Moss. No doubt if the draft were held again today, last year's star receiver wouldn't go until at least the fourth round.
What's this have to do with Wes Welker? A lot, actually.
You see, Welker is a product of Moss' success. With two defenders following Moss' every step, Welker is left to run free amid single coverage and a bunch of linebackers.
But when defenses don't have to honor Moss as much, they can give Welker an honest look, and that's bound to affect his numbers.
It's quite possible neither Moss nor Welker will finish with half the numbers he had last year.
I'm not here to tell you to trade Moss. Given the price you'd get in return, you're probably best off riding him out.
I'm just saying: If you had a chance right now to acquire Welker, you'd be unwise to do it. After all, why do you think the other guy is trading him in the first place?
