Falcons: Two games into the season and we already see the Falcons will be like most teams: They will run the ball much more often in games they are winning (or are competitive) than in games where they have fallen behind. Michael Turner is a must-start in the former (such as this week's matchup with the Chiefs), but you've got to consider sitting him against the tougher competition, especially on the road ...
It was encouraging to see Jerious Norwood got six carries even in a game the Falcons had no chance of winning. If he continues to get about half as many carries as Turner, he can be considered a fantasy option in games such as this week's against the Chiefs. I'll take my chances with a go-the-distance guy getting 10-plus touches against a bad team ...
Roddy White is not an every-week fantasy starter. Most weeks, OK. But the Falcons cannot depend upon their rookie quarterback on the road against tough teams like Tampa Bay. Don't be afraid to look for better options than White when the Falcons encounter similar situations down the line.
Buccaneers: What looked like an encouraging situation has turned rather gloomy in Tampa. There's already a quarterback controversy (neither guy is all that good) and newcomer Warrick Dunn is cutting big-time into Earnest Graham's value. Take away Graham's 68-yarder late in last week's blowout and his numbers would have been similarly mediocre as Dunn's. Beware ...
And so much for Joey Galloway taking advantage of the Bucs' schedule, which is the most fantasy-friendly in the NFL. Two catches for 18 yards against the Falcons? Ouch. Consider him a fantasy backup until some issues resolve themselves down there. And definitely don't start him this week as his foot is acting up. It might be worth your while to pick up Antonio Bryant in case Galloway's injury lingers.
