Chargers: Darren Sproles was splashed all over the highlights last week, but make no mistake about it: He is to the Chargers this season what Michael Turner was last season -- a fantasy nobody. Sure, Sproles would be a nice addition to your team if you've got LaDainian Tomlinson. If LT were to get hurt, it would be nice to plug Sproles into the lineup. But short of that, he doesn't get enough touches to consider playing him even against the weakest of competition ...

Speaking of LT, there are those who believe the Chargers' new-found passing game will hurt his numbers. They're wrong. First off, Tomlinson is one of the best pass-catching backs in the league, so he will play a big role in that passing game. And secondly, passing the ball between the 20s always benefits a touchdown-scoring back like LT. He'll be fine ...

If you drafted Philip Rivers and Chris Chambers as backups, it's time to consider trading your starters if you need help at another position. These guys look like every-week fantasy starters, and certainly deserve the call this week against the Jets.

Broncos: Before you get discouraged by the Broncos' committee approach to their running game, check out last week's numbers: Selvin Young, eight carries for 78 yards; Andre Hall, seven carries for 31 yards; Michael Pittman, seven carries for 30 yards. Don't for a minute believe Young has lost his title as the team's primary back. You'll certainly want him in the lineup this week against the Saints ...

As with Rivers, Jay Cutler has vaulted up the charts and into fantasy-starter status. If you've got a second quality quarterback, do yourself a favor and trade one. E-mail the guy who drafted Carson Palmer, Matt Hasselbeck or Marc Bulger as his starter and see if you can make a trade. Having two good quarterbacks only serves to give you headaches at lineup time each week ...

Brandon Marshall's splashy season debut affected Eddie Royal's numbers, but it was encouraging to see the Broncos went to the rookie with the game on the line in the final seconds. That tells me he's worth keeping in the lineup.
