It's probably too late to change the rules in your league's playoffs this year, so I'm going to suggest something else.

When all is said and done, go back and apply my one little rule change to your postseason and see if the result was improved, unchanged or negatively effected.

Here's my rule: Give a home-field advantage to the team with the better regular-season record in all matchups.

This makes perfect sense. After all, they do it in the NFL, so it would be consistent with what's happening on the field.

I'm surprised more leagues haven't grasped this concept. For a 13-0 team to start a playoff matchup with a 7-6 club on equal grounds just makes no sense.

I say: Give the team with the better regular-season record the equivalent of a one-touchdown head-start. So if you award six points for a touchdown, that team would start off with a 6-0 lead.

It might or might not impact the result, but the important thing is: It's fair. And like I said: It's what they do in the real game (the home-field advantage in the playoffs is generally considered to be worth five or six points), so it's something fantasy leagues really should include.

Check it out this year, and if you like it, try to get it voted into your league next season. It'll give you a better product.

OK, let's turn our attention to one key playoff tip at each position this week:

Quarterbacks.

Running Backs.

Wide Receivers.

Tight Ends.

Kickers.

Defenses.
