Point your ears toward Denver.
Considering the rush to get Ryan Torain, it's pretty clear many fantasy participants know Mike Shanahan's reputation. Seemingly every season, he uncovers a gem at running back.
It was supposed to be Torain this year, but he got hurt shortly after getting his first shot Thursday night. So now the door's open for someone else.
Shanahan might not have any super-duper sleepers up his sleeve at this point, but I certainly wouldn't give up on him. Somehow, some way, he's going to find a fantasy-worthy running back.
This much we know: Whoever the Broncos sign off the scrap heap will get an opportunity to shine right away. Such is the sad state of Denver's injury-plagued running game.
With 10 days to get the new guy ready for this first outing, stay tuned to the news regarding Shanahan's decision who so sign. Then I suggest you lock up this guy as quickly as possible, just as so many did with Torain. The logic remains the same.
