Little things can make a big difference in fantasy football. It's the main reason why, even if you're off to a 1-4 start, this is no time to give up the fight.
While most fantasy participants dig and dig into the waiver wire in an attempt to uncover a season-saving gem, the player who's most likely to turn around your season is on someone else's roster.
Your task: Get him.
This is a great time of year to make a trade. Injuries, byes and underachieving players are all conspiring to demoralize owners in every league. Yes, even your league has them.
What you need to do is find one whose roster is compatible with yours and then convince this owner you have the answer to his/her problems.
Do yourself a favor: Don't attempt to fleece anyone. More times than not, you'll only get the door slammed in your face - now and in the future.
Make a legitimate offer. Deal from your strength to address your weakness, while at the same time offering a swap that would have a similar impact on your rival's roster.
Many teams have running back issues right now. If you're lucky enough to have depth at that position, you'll be a godsend to one of these teams.
Find one with depth at the position you need and offer help at running back. When the other owner realizes he/she is dealing with someone trying to help BOTH teams, you're much more likely to work something out.
