Grab LaMont Jordan off waivers.
Yeah, I know. Last week I was telling you to do the same with BenJarvus Green-Ellis. And if you did, you got a touchdown before reality set in with the fifth-string back.
The point was (and continues to be): The Patriots will have to be more of a running team with Matt Cassel at quarterback. With Randy Moss and Wes Welker onboard to keep defenses honest, and Cassel having developed to the point now where the Pats are a feared passing team, there's a tremendous opportunity for a Patriots back to make a significant fantasy impact.
That won't be Laurence Maroney. He's out for the season. Or Sammy Morris, who was doing fine until suffering a knee injury two weeks ago. He's out for a while, if not for the rest of the year.
Green-Ellis was so disappointing (after his TD) last week, the Pats had to overuse Kevin Faulk. But now that Jordan is healthy - or close to being so - that shouldn't have to happen anymore.
Soon - even possibly this week - Jordan will be the primary ballcarrier on one of the league's most powerful offensive teams, one tha pushed a no-talent like Green-Ellis into the end zone last week. And this guy (probably) is available in your league. Imagine that.
I'm not saying you should put Jordan in your lineup this week. But if I were you: I'd claim him off waivers and prevent your rivals from doing the same next week should he come up big in the nationally televised game at Indianapolis on Sunday night.
