If you're like most fantasy football participants, you've already peeked ahead to your players' matchups during your league's playoffs. Some you like, others you don't.

In fact, you're so concerned about the latter, you've gazed at all the schedules to see who has the favorable matchups those weeks.

And now you're ready to make changes.

Uh, no.

Hey, I like changes as much as anyone. In fact, I've got a couple to recommend with the future in mind. But this has nothing to do with the NFL schedule during your league's playoffs.

Shifting over from guys who delivered you to the playoffs to lesser guys who have better matchups rarely works. In fact, more often than not, you wind up kicking yourself for not trusting your guys.

Today, I offer up two guys who I believe can both get you into the playoffs and then help deliver you a championship. Both, believe it or not, had surgery this week.

It's no joke. Colts wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez and Texans tight end James Casey both underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this week. They are expected to be out two or three weeks.

That being the case, I presume both guys are available in your league. Do yourself a favor: Get them.

Gonzalez will step into a great situation the instant he is ready. Look what Peyton Manning has done for Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon. Now imagine what he could go with Gonzalez, a far more talented and accomplished wideout than his replacements.

Casey, meanwhile, is Owen Daniels' injury replacement, with Daniels having been ruled out for the season. I should say: Casey WOULD BE Daniels' replacement if Casey were healthy, which he isn't.

But he will be soon, at which point Matt Schaub can get back to throwing to his tight end. Casey is good enough to duplicate Daniels' monster numbers.

Planning ahead? Grab Gonzalez and Casey, and stash them on your roster. Come December and your stretch run, you'll be glad you did.
