If you can't decide whether to take a quarterback, running back or wide receiver in an early round of your fantasy draft, remember this name: Wes Welker.
If you recall, Welker came out of nowhere to be a fantasy star last season. It wasn't surprising. There's a Wes Welker or two in every draft, if you're patient enough to wait for him and then bold enough to take a chance on him.
There are far more sleepers at the wide receiver position each year than any other position. That trend is not about to change.
So what does that mean? If you grab a couple of trustworthy receivers in the first five or six rounds, then be bold with at least a couple of your other receiver picks down the line. There will be many, many potential stars available even after 100 picks have been made in this year's draft.
If you successfully latch onto this year's Welker, you set yourself up for a great season because he gives you options. You could trade this hot commodity for help at another position when the time comes, or move this guy fulltime into your lineup and deal one of your bigger-name receivers, again helping yourself upgrade elsewhere.
