Make a pitch for Marc Bulger.
Don't look now, but the Rams all of a sudden are playing some pretty good football. That's certainly not what we've come to expect from any NFC West team.
Here are two positives to come out of a three-week stretch in which the Rams faced the Redskins, Cowboys and Patriots:
* Just being competitive in those games - and the Rams were much more than that - would have been a great feat for any NFL team, let alone one that was considered a laughingstock before the sequence began.
* And now that the Murderers' Row of games is out of the way, you know the schedule has to get big-time softer. That starts this week with a home game against the Cardinals.
With Donnie Avery developing into a star and two other former fantasy standouts (Steven Jackson and Torry Holt) ready to break out, the Rams are primed to put up some big numbers against relatively weak competition in the weeks ahead. That makes Bulger a valuable commodity.
I say: Deal for him now while the price is right while he's entrenched on somebody's bench.
