The Washington Wizards are set to host the Indiana Pacers at the Verizon Center tonight in hopes of only their fifth win of the season. The 4-17 Wizards have a large challenge ahead, as they try to contain Danny Granger, who has led the Indiana Pacers in wins over both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics this season.
Granger has averaged 23.5 points per game for the Pacers, lighting it up from behind the three-point arc and playing an all-around game. Granger also holds a 3.2 turnovers per game average, the sixth worst in the NBA, and if the Wizards choose to, a carefully placed double-team or two might help Washington limit Granger tonight (meanwhile, Javaris Crittenton is #6 over 48 minutes with 6.7 after a horrible first game for the Wizards against the Celtics).
Here's a look at the Wizards schedule from now until January 16th, 2009. Wow, 2009 is almost here.
