The Tualatin WorkSource office

This office used to be conveniently located in Beaverton, near a couple of frequent bus lines and not far from MAX Blue Line.  Oregon moved the office to Tualatin about three years ago.  Now it’s hard to find and only two TriMet lines offer service.

It’s located at 7995 SW Mohawk Street in Tualatin.  Mohawk is a minor cross street off of SW Martinazzi.  The building is one of many in a big business park.  This office is hidden behind a hill with a long hedge.  You just won’t see it from the street, but the prominent Tualatin Park and Ride lot across SW Mohawk helps you find the center.

While there are only two bus lines serving this employment center, both are TriMet stalwarts.  The #76 Beaverton/Tualatin runs between the Beaverton TC and Meridian Park Hospital.  It runs every half-hour during the week, and is pretty reliable.  (I rode it daily for six years.)  It makes a connection with MAX Blue and Red Lines in Beaverton, then passes through the Washington Square TC on the way to Tualatin and back.

On the way south (from Beaverton), the bus stops across the street at the intersection of Mohawk and Martinazzi, stop #8276.  The crosswalk here is clearly marked, but Martinazzi carries a lot of traffic.  Be careful when crossing the street.  When the bus heads north, back to Beaverton, it stops on the same side of the street as the office, at #8285. To see these stops more closely, go to the TriMet Stops and Stations page and enter these stop numbers.

Both of these stops see visits from another TriMet workhorse, the #96 Tualatin/I-5.  It’s a commuter route that shuttles between North Wilsonville and downtown Portland.  It runs frequently, so there’s a gap in service around the noon hour. The #96 connects to the MAX Green and Yellow Lines in downtown Portland, and the Wilsonville SMART line at the south end.  The SMART #5 will get you to this employment center from the Willsonville TC.
