Cal Bears back in the polls after Pac-10 win

For the second time this season, the California Golden Bears have worked themselves back into national consciousness by moving up high enough to be ranked in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll.  The Bears go into their bye week with a ranking of 25 in the Coaches Poll and 29th in the AP Poll.

The last time that the Bears were ranked, they were ranked for one week, the week of September 7, they were ranked #23 in the AP Poll and #25 in the USA Top 25 Coaches Poll.  Cal couldn't hold their ranking the last time as they promptly went cross-country and layed an egg against Maryland.

If they aren't in the polls next week, it won't becuase they've done anything wrong.  Normally a team that doesn't play will move up a spot or two based on poor performances of the teams ranked above them.  That would make it a safe bet that when the Bears travel to Arizona, they'll be ranked in both polls.
